Another Year, Another Season

Well, a year has gone by and we are entering another soccer season. This year Megan moved up to the next level (10, 11, and 12 year olds) and Grace is in the same level as last year (8 and 9 year olds). Megan's team is Go Anywhere Puzzles and will be in purple (which just happens to be her favorite color). Grace is on team Gutwein Family Chiropractic and will sport the color light green (Can you guess her favorite color?).

Grace mostly played as a forward in today's game, but she also played as a defender and a midfielder. In this picture, she almost had a goal....she was sooooo close! Grace gets around her defender and heads up field. In a sea of yellow.
These are the "dynamic three," meaning they played either as forwards, midfielders, or defenders at the same time. This pic is taken as they walked back up the field after making one of their goals. Grace is in the middle.Since the girls are on separate leagues this year, I am so thankful (and relieved!) that their games are scheduled back to back. No running from field to field for me this year. Yeah! I can sit and enjoy both of their games.

Megan's level plays on a full-size field and has longer quarters. Instead of rotating positions throughout the game, their coach places them where he feels they'll do the best. This is where they'll be for the season. The nice thing is, they really learn and "own" their position. Megan is left midfielder.

Highlights of Megan's game .... (sorry her pics are a bit blurry and I'm not sure why)With the ball at her feet, she looks for her teammate to pass to. Movin' in for a big kick.
I think Grace took in Megan's game in about every position imaginable in this chair! Both teams won 2-1.

In case you were wondering where Leah was.....she had the privilege to be with Daddy at the office today. Her highlight was getting to sit outside and watch the Grabill Fair parade! She said the following to me this morning, "I like to go to Daddy's office all by me-self!"
